PURPOSE:To shorten the measurement time of a cylindrical shape and to specify the causal sequence of measurement by measuring the distance between a reference surface and the side face of a cylinder supported rotatably around a shaft parallel to the reference surface. CONSTITUTION:The material cylinder 5 is supported rotatably on supporting parts 4a and 4a' through flanges 3a and 3a'. The distance (g) between the reference surface 2 and material cylinder 5 is measured at several points along the center shaft (c). A laser scanning part 6a and a photodetection part 6a' are arranged to measure the distance (g). Further, while the cylinder 5 is rotated around the center shaft (c) by a constant angle at every time, the distance (g) is measured to measure the outward shape of the cylinder 5. Thus, the distance between the cylinder 5 and reference surface 2 is measured to measure the outward shape of the cylinder easily, so the measurement time is shortened, and the shape and external diameter are measured at the same points, so the outward shape of the cylinder is grasped easily. |
