PURPOSE:To enable to prevent a carrier from being vibrated in forward and backward directions due to the shock generated at the time of printing, by a simple construction, by energizing the carrier in the direction for spacing away form a platen by the tension of a ribbon-feeding or carrier-moving wire. CONSTITUTION:The carrier 5 with a printing head 4 mounted thereon is supported by guides which are long sideways so that the carrier 5 can be moved in parallel to a platen 1. The ribbon-feeding or carrier-moving wire 11 supported at positions proximate to left and right frames is connected to the carrier 5. A pulley 10 is rotatably fitted to the carrier 5, and both ends of the wire 11 fitted to the pulley 10 are fixed directly to a left-right pair of frames 12, respectively. On one side, the wire 11 is inclined at an angle alpha in the direction intersecting the plane connecting a front part guide 2 and a rear part guide 3 as the frames 12 are approached, and on the other hand, the wire 11 is inclined at an angle beta in the direction from the platen 1 toward the rear part guide 3 as the frames 12 are approached. Acordingly, a rear part of the carrier 5 is energized downward, a roller 7 makes springy contact with the guide 3, and is rearwardly energized so as to be spaced away from the platen 1. |
