PURPOSE:To enhance the degree of freedom for the attaching position of an oil pump for feeding lubricating oil to an engine,and as well to simplify the detection of oil pump failure, by driving the oil pump by a motor and as well by providing a circuit for detecting the occurrence of abnormality of the oil pump. CONSTITUTION:When an engine is started, the output v1 of an engine rotational speed detecting circuit 1 becomes larger than the output v3 of a motor rotational speed detecting circuit 2, and the output of a comparator circuit 3 becomes high. Thereby transistors TR1, TR2 in a motor drive circuit 4 are turned on so that a motor M for driving an oil pump 5 is energized. Thereafter, when the rotational speed of the motor M becomes high, that is, v3 > v1, the output v4 of the comparator circuit 3 becomes low so that the motor M is stopped. Further, when the motor M is stopped in, for example, such a condition that the oil pump 5 is overloaded, the comparator circuit 3 continues to issue a high level signal, and therefore, the output v5 of an integrator circuit 61 in an abnormality detecting circuit 6 exceeds a reference voltage v6 so that a display unit 7 is energized through an operational amplifier IC3, TR3. |
