The invention relates to a device for sealing coke-cake transport cars with respect to a hood when pushing coke out of the coke oven chambers into the quenching cars, with coke-cake transport cars which can be moved separately or simultaneously on rails along the coke oven battery, and a hood. The transport cars and hood should be connected to each other in the operating position so that no emissions pass into the atmosphere. In this connection, a part of the hood is arranged on the coke-cake transport car and extends over it partially, and the hood is connected to a stationary suction and cleaning system. It is an essential feature of the invention that the connection between hood and coke-cake transport car is produced by connecting doors (10), which can rotate about vertical axes (11), and by an upper horizontal sealing flap (22) which is lifted upwards from the hanging position by the swing-out connecting doors (10). <IMAGE>
