Pyrans (I; R1R2 = Ph, halogen, or Me (or OMe) substituted Ph, thienyl; R3 = H, C1-3 alkyl; R4 = C1-3 alkyl) and their acid addition salts (Ia), which are useful as tranquilizers (no data), were prepd. Thus, 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-6-phenyl-tetrahydrothiopyranone(4) was condensed with p-chlorobenzaldehyde to give 2-(4-chlorophenyl-6- phenyl-tetrahydrothiopyranone-(4).
