In a container (1) with a lid (2), especially for the accommodation of yoghurt, the lid (2) which is in air-tight connection with the container (1) has a depression (7) which reaches up to or almost up to the surface (6) of the product filled in, e.g. yoghurt. Inclusion of air above the product which impairs the quality of the product and movement of the product within the container during transportation as well as the resultant rise of serum to the product surface can be avoided thereby. <IMAGE>
