In such an electrode with flexible fixing elements which project outwards at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the electrode feed line in a direction opposite to the insertion direction of the electrode and have a cross-section which is larger than the cross-section in the radial direction as related to the tangential direction of the electrode feed line, the flexural strength of the fixing elements decreases with increasing distance from the connecting point to such an extent that, in the event of forces acting upon the fixing elements in the insertion direction, a fairly large portion of the curvature forming over the longitudinal extension of the fixing elements occurs in the vicinity of the region on which the holding force acts.
