Specific units for physical fitness or for therapeutic applications are composed, on the one hand, of action-specific assemblies which are necessary for the use or actuation of said units and are designed for certain purposes and, on the other hand, of secondary structures which are necessary for the positioning and arrangement of said units for use and are adapted thereto. Given the use, necessary for achieving specific exercising aims, of a plurality of units, there is an increased space requirement, corresponding to the number of individual units, for the operation of said units and for the storage thereof when they are not in use. The invention presents a material-saving and space-saving solution, by means of which the plurality of action-specific assemblies can be united in one universally usable basic structure, while eliminating the secondary structures thereof. The basic structure and its elements, and the integrated action-specific assemblies and their elements, are interconnected and/or are connected to one another to be capable of moving functionally in mutual dependency, such that they can be adjusted, converted and fixed, and can be arranged and moved in any position together with the basic structure, the design of the basic structure making it possible to utilise it for additional purposes when it is not being used in its primary capacity. <IMAGE>
