摘要 PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption and prevent torque shock due to lockup upon the operation of zero opening degree of a throttle as well as the operation on a slope by a method wherein the lockup control for a condition in which an engine output can be deemed to be zero is effected except the normal lockup control. CONSTITUTION:A lockup deciding means (i) inputs the output signals of an engine load sensor (g), detecting the magnitude of the load of an engine (a), and a turbine revolving number sensor (f), detecting the revolving number of output shaft of a torque converter (b). Normally, these two output signals are compared with first lockup control line (h1), set and memorized previously, to control the control means (j) operating and releasing a lockup means (d). Further, in case the engine output can be deemed to be zero, lockup is decided whether it should be released or not by another lockup control line (h2) set previously.
