PURPOSE:To enhance electrostatic charge controllability by incorporating a copolymer of one of specified aminostyrenes, their derivs., and their quaternary ammonium salts, and another vinyl monomer in outer shells coating a core substance. CONSTITUTION:Outer shells coating the particles of a core substance, such as PE, contains a copolymer of one of aminostyrenes having the shown formula, their derivs., and their quaternary ammonium salts, and another vinyl monomer, preferably in 1/9-9/5 monomer ratio. As said aminostyrenes and their derivs., o-, m-, and p-aminostyrenes are used, and as said other vinyl monomer, styrenes are used. When an image using a toner of such a compsn. is transferred, superior fixability is attained with low pressure, and since triboelectrification amt. and image change are small, good durability and stable charge controllability can be obtained. In the formula, R1 is 0-12C alkylene, and R2, R3 are each H or 1-20C alkyl. |
