PURPOSE:To prevent the developer in a copying machine and the supply toner in a toner box from absorbing moisture even in a high-humidity atmosphere by mixing a desiccating agent with the supply toner. CONSTITUTION:Silica gel which is pulverized into the porous particulate silica having less than several micron grain size is mixed as a desiccating agent with the supply toner 10 in the toner box 9. The addition rate is smaller than several percents to replenishing toner. When the semi-sealed housing 2 of the developing machine A is placed in a high humidity atmosphere, the outside air enters the housing 2 and toner box 9 gradually to raise the humidity in the housing 2 and toner box 9, but the desiccating agent is mixed with the supply toner 10, so the desiccating agent absorbs moisture in the air to hold low humidity states in the housing 2 and toner box 9, thereby preventing the developer 7 and the replenishing toner 10 from absorbing moisture. |
