PURPOSE:To enable an accurate assay of components to be measured in a body fluid eliminating the hindrance of ascorbic acid by adding an iron complex of specified amino acid or an iron complex of gluconic acid to the liquid to eliminate ascorbic acid therein. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the formula (where, R1-5 is H, alkyl, carboxyalkyl or hydroxyalkyl, X (substituted) ethylene, provided that the substituent group is those such as substituted by alkyl, carboxylalkyl or hydroxyalkyl at one or two positions or transcyclohexane) or an iron complex of gluconic acid is added to a sample of a body fluid (such as serum) and heated at about 37 deg.C for about 3min. Then, a reactive reagent is added to the mixture and made to react at the temperature and for the time length both suitable for components to be analyzed and then, the absorbance or the like of light with the wave respectively suited to the components is measured. Thus, ascorbic acid in the body fluid as hindering cmponent to the measurement of uric acid, transamylase, neutral fat and the like in the body fluid is eliminated thereby enabling accurate assay. |
