PURPOSE:To polish a workpiece with higher accuracy while always keeping unchanged a relative position between the workpiece and a whetstone by more increasing the number of whetstone dressing times during a warming period just after the starting of a device operation than in ordinary dressing times after the elapse of the warming period. CONSTITUTION:A dressing control device 35 is operated while a completion contact CRX also turned ON to permit a warming timer TB to begin to count, and after the elapse of set timer TB a contact 38 is closed to be turned ON. And, unless a whetstone 5 is processed, an allowance contact CRY is turned ON and succesively a starting contact CRA turned ON, allowing a dressing device 7 to start for a prescribed correcting process. And, with the end of the correction the completion contact CRX is once turned OFF to permit the warming timer TB to be reset, and immediately thereafter the completion contact CRX is turned ON. The same operation is repeated, and the dressing device 7 is started at every time TB. When the warming time tA elapses, a main timer TA is turned ON while making invalid the operation of the warming timer TB and valid the operation of an after-warming timer TC, so that the accuracy of a captioned device to be ensured. |
