PURPOSE:A formed product of modified polyester that is produced by introducing a specific amount of carboxyl group substituted with an alkali metal into the formed product composed of polyalkylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate, thus showing cotton-like properties. CONSTITUTION:The objective modified polyester formed product is obtained by introducing more than 5X10<-4> gramequivalent/gram of the product of carboxyl groups substituted with an alkali metal into each filament composed of (i) polyalkylene terephthalate whose alkylene has 4 or more carbon atoms such as polybutylene terephthalate and (ii) polyethylene terephthalate. The content of the carboxyl groups is higher in the component i than in the component ii and, more preferably, the component i occupies over 30% of the surface of the formed product. |
