PURPOSE:To obtain ferrite at ordinary temp. by oxidizing mine water contg. As and Ni, separating As by adsorbing it to generated ferric compd. at <=5pH, oxidizing further to generate ferric precipitate at <=4pH and adding specified amt. of ferrous compd. to the precipitate of ferric compd. CONSTITUTION:A part of ferrous ion in mine water contg. As, Ni, and ferrous ion is oxidized to ferric compd. which precipitates at <=5pH. As is adsorbed to the ferric precipitate and separated. >=5pH is not preferred because ferrous ion begins also precipitation. Remaining ferrous ion is further oxidized and ferric precipitate generating at <=4pH is recovered. >=4pH is not preferred because Si in the liquid will coprecipitate. Then, the ferric precipitate is mixed with a soln. of ferrous material to obtain a compositional ratio of Fe(III) to Fe(II) to be 1.5- 3.0, and the pH is adjusted to >=7 by adding alkali. The mixture is allowed to stand and ferrite contg. no As is obtd.
