PRETREATING DEVICE OF LOW TEMPERATURE AIR SEPARATOR

PURPOSE:To prevent increase in the capacity of the cushion tank of a low temp. air separator by providing a balance valve which operates according to the change-over of vacuum regeneration type adsorption columns in the mid-way of a piping connecting the cushion tank and the adsorption columns. CONSTITUTION:A part of volume of refining air (b) is fed to a cushion tank 7' while the opening degree of a valve 8 is set and controlled to complete pressurization in the cushion tank in one change-over cycle of a vacuum regeneration type adsorption column 5 (4). When the internal pressure in the adsorption column after the end of regeneration is increased up to the pressure 6kg/cm<2>G required to perform satisfactory adsorption, a balance valve 10 attached in the mid-way of a piping 9 connecting the adsorption column and the cushion tank is fully opened in the initial period of the pressurizing stage to pressurize the adsorption column up to about 3kg/cm<2>G in about 20sec and thereafter the balance valve is fully closed and a selector valve 3 is operated to pressurize the column up to about 6kg/cm<2>G, then the valve 3 is changed over to perform adsorption in the adsorption column.
