PURPOSE:To extremely decrease pressure exerted on a web surface and to prevent the occurrence of a trouble, such as scratches, folding marks, by a method wherein winding is effected in a condition to bring press rollers into contact with both sides of a wound web roll. CONSTITUTION:At least a pair of press rollers 3 are rotatably mounted along the direction of the winding diameter of a web W, so that an increase in the diameter of the web W wound in a roll around a winding shaft 2 is backed up and a part of the outer periphery thereof is normally brought into contact with the side face of the web W. Namely, the press roller 3 is placed on a casing 6 in a condition to be inclined at a given angle to a horizontal plane. The press roller is formed in the shape of a cone, and this reduces friction between the roller and the web W, prevents the occurrence of a trouble because of a difference in a moving speed occasioned by an increase in the diameter of the roll, effects smooth synchronizing rotation, and provides a proper roll state in which slip is prevented from occurring. |
