PURPOSE:To lower the mounted position of an engine, by providing an extension on the bottom of the front of each of frames laid in the front-to-rear direction of an automobile at the right and left of the front part of the vehicle body and by mounting the engine on a member coupled to the extension. CONSTITUTION:An engine room is defined by frames 8 extending in a right and a left lower positions in the front-to-rear direction of an automobile, wheel aprons 9 whose lower portions are coupled to the outsides of the frames, a radiator shroud 10 provided between the front portions of the frames, and a dash panel 11 provided at the rear portions of the frames. A downward extension 16 is provided on the bottom of the front portion of each frame 8. A member 17 extending in the right-to-left direction of the automobile is secured at 18 on the lower part of the extension 16. An engine is mounted on the member 17. According to this constitution, the mounted position of the engine is lowered and the load of the engine is carried with enough strength and rigidity. |
