PURPOSE:To obtain superior characteristics by small-sized constitution by forming an antenna element in a loop shape, providing part of it on a support which varies in angle to a plane of polarization, and varying a tuning frequency by variation in the angle of the support. CONSTITUTION:An antenna element 80 is connected to elements 10 and 20 electrically through hinges 43 and 44 to form the antenna loop, and the angle theta of a support plate 83 is varied to vary the angle theta of the element 80. Therefore, channels of the VHF band are covered. The element 80 is supported by the support plate 83 to have sufficient strength. When elements 63 and 64 of the UHF band are operated as a dipole element, elements 63 and 64, and 61 and 62 are made different in designed center frequency, and outputs of both elements are led out by being mixed or switched to perform high-gain reception over a wide range. Further, when the elements 63 and 64 are operated as a reflector or waveguide, the angle theta of the support plate 83 is varied to vary the impedance values of the elements 61 and 72, obtaining a high gain over a wide range. |
