摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device which is small in size and light in weight, by providing a lens means which has been provided on a substrate for emitting projected light in the roughly upper direction from the other surface of the substrate, and also condensing it, and a photodetecting means which has been provided on the substrate for photodetecting the light which is reflected from an optical disk, etc. CONSTITUTION:An inline Fresnel lens 13 is formed in a part on a substrate 11, and in the lower part of this lens 13, a semiconductor laser 12 is placed as a light source, and fixed onto a base 10. The lens 13 emits the light which has reached the lens 13 through the substrate 11 from the semiconductor laser 12 of the lower part, in the vertically upper direction from the upper face of the substrate 11 and condenses it to a spot P whose diameter is about 1mum. When reading the information which has been recorded in an optical disk 81, an optical pickup head is placed so that the laser spot P is positioned on the information recording surface, and also the optical pickup head and the optical disk 81 are placed so that the emitted beam of the lens 13 is irradiated diagonally to the surface of the optical disk 81.
