PURPOSE:To attain excellent reproduction by arranging a semiconductor laser amplifier in an optical path of laser light reflected from an optomagnetic recording medium where information is recorded depending on the distributing state of magnetic moment and detecting its irradiated light. CONSTITUTION:A polarized beam from the semiconductor 1 is made incident to the optomagnetic recording medium 5 on which information is recorded depending on the distributing state of magnetic moment via a coupling lens 2, a transluscent mirror 3 and an objective lens 4. The polarized state of the light reflected from a recorded part of the medium 5 is changed, only the component at a right angle in the direction of polarization of the reflected light is obtained by a polarizer 11 via the transluscent mirror 3, the light is amplified by a semiconductor laser amplifier 8, the irradiated natural light component is eliminated by a polarizer 6 and the result is detected by a photodetector 7. Since a sufficient signal is obtained in this way, excellent reproduction is attained. |
