PURPOSE:To obtain a structual steel with improve cold plastic workability by adding specified amounts of C, Si and Mn as essential componens and restricting the amount of P and the relation between Si and Mn. CONSTITUTION:This structural steel contians, by weight, 0.3-0.7% C, <=0.3% Si and <=0.8% Mn as essential components or further contains 0.2-0.5% Cr and/or 0.0005-0.005% B and satifies P<=0.02% and 0.25<=1.5Si% +1.3 Mn%<=1.0. By the composition the micro-segregation of the steel can be prevented, and the cold plastic workability and strength characteristics such as rolling and rotary bending fatigue can be improved without carrying out annealing or soaking processes.
