PURPOSE:To reduce a rolling load and a rolling power and to restrain the vibrations of rolling rolls by using small diametral work rolls and using a 4-roll driving system. CONSTITUTION:A titled device is constituted of a pair of work rolls 5 having each a diameter smaller than the diameter of each roll of a pair of intermediate rolls 4, and back up rolls 3. The rolls 4 are made movable laterally in their axial directions with respect to the rolling center of a rolling material 30, and the main drive is performed by the rolls 4. The drive is performed by main driving motors 17, 18. Subdriving motors 23, 27 have about 1/10-1/2 capacities respectively with respect to the capacities of main motors 17, 18, and are driven almost synchronously with the peripheral speed of the main drive intermediate roll 4 till at least the material 30 is bitten by the rolls 5. |
