PURPOSE:To produce easily a functional alloy wire having a uniform and long- sized shape by extruding the powder of a functiolal alloy from an extruding die under a heating condition. CONSTITUTION:Alloy powder 8 having a function of shape memory, superelasticity, vibration-proofness, etc. is supplied through a powder supplying jig 7 into a pipeline and is fed to the terminal of the pipeline by the friction with a driving wall surface 3 in a friction driving type extruder constituting the pipeline of the driving wall surface 3 of a driving wheel 1 having a groove 2 on the outside circumferential surface and the stationary wall surface 5 of a stationary shoe block 4. The powder 8 is sintered by friction heat of 300-700 deg.C by the friction between the surface 3 and the surface 5 and is extruded as an alloy material 8a from an extruding die 9. The extruded material is quickly cooled and a functional alloy wire 8c is obtd. The powder 8 formed by quick cooling of the melt of an alloy such as Cu-Zn-Al having an adequate compsn. is preferable as the uniformity in comspn. is easily obtd. with such alloy.
