A WATER-SOLUBLE AMIDE OF OXALIC ACID OF FLUORESCER COMPOUNDS

Water-sol. oxalic acid amides of formula (I) are new. A+ is a gp. of aormula (II) or (III). R1 is H or C1-6 alkyl. n is 2-6. X is an anion. When (I) are mixed with an aq. soln. of a water-sol. organic fluorescer, having a spectral emission in the range 330-1000 nm with hydrogen peroxide or with a source of hydrogen per-oxide, the mixt. produces a chemiluminescent emission of high in-tensity and efficiency. Such mixts. are useful as emergency light sources.
