PURPOSE:To always discriminate with high accuracy whether a printed matter is correct or defective by adding each integral value by a surface reflected light and an rear side reflected light of the printed matter, and comparing it with a reference level. CONSTITUTION:A surface detector 11 and a rear side detector 12 are provided on both side parts of a paper money to be carried. Each output of the detectors 11, 12 is integrated, supplied to an error detector 15, respectively, and supplied to a surface correcting device 16 and a rear side correcting device 17. At the time of actual discrimination, an output of an integrator 13 or 14 is corrected by using a correcting value stored in the error detector 15. Each output of the correcting devices 16, 17 is supplied to an adder 18 and added, and the result of its addition is supplied to a comparator 19, and compared with a reference level. |
