PURPOSE:To enable to easily set margins and tabs, by a method wherein a carrier is moved to a home position, an address is set to O, and the carrier is moved to a preset left margin position while counting the address. CONSTITUTION:A controlling circuit 9 consisting of a micro-computer presets into a memory area the addresses of program-set left and right margin positions and tab positions in response to throwing in of a power source. When the carrier 5 is moved to the home position and this condition is detected by a sensor switch 8, the carrier address is set to O, the carrier 5 is moved to the preset left margin position while counting the carrier address, and is stopped there. In this condition, the carrier 5 is moved to a tab position preset in the memory area each time a key input is supplied through a tab key, and a new tab position is set on the basis of the preset tab position. Accordingly, the margin and tab positions can be easily set. |
