PURPOSE:To evaluate the duration to decay of a wood material subjected to a preservative treatment by irradiating a soft X-ray into the wood and detecting the dose of the soft X-ray penetrating the inside of the wood material. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble antiseptic agent for pressure treatment is injected under pressure into a sample material. The same sample is divided to the blank material, the sample right afer injection of the antiseptic agent, and the sample after drying of the material treated with the antiseptic agent, and these three stages of the samples are placed on a photographic film, then a soft X-ray is irradiated thereto. A difference is generated in the dose of the transmitted X-ray according to the degree at which the objects absorb the antiseptic agent. If other absorber is incorporated in the object, a difference in the does of the transmitted X-ray arises and therefore a light source 3 which projects light onto the film 2, and a TV camera projecting the film 2 are provided. The varying degrees of the blackening density projected on the film 2 are detected and analyzed by an image monitor 4 and an image analyzing chart 5. |
