DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM OF CACHE MEMORY

PURPOSE:To attain efficiently and accurately the diagnosis of a cache memory without reducing the operating speed of the cache memory by adding a register reading and writing directly information to each storage means incorporated to the cache memory. CONSTITUTION:Suppose that an address to be written in an address array 1 or address information to be accessed is preset in an address register 72A. In reading the stored data of the address array 1 into a diagnostic register 81, a multiplexer 91 selects an address signal 721 in response to a signal S1, a data 102 is read from the address array 1 in response to a read signal R1 and latched to the diagnostic register 81 in synchronizing with a latch pulse L1. In writing the content of the diagnostic register 81 to the address array 1, the write data is latched to the diagnostic register 81 in synchronizing with the signal L1, the multiplexer 9a selects the address signal 721 in response to the signal S1 at the same time and a write data 102 is written in the address array 1 in response to a write signal W1.
