PURPOSE:To simplify the operation of an information selecting system by feeding the 2nd syllable, the 3rd syllable and so on until a desired KANJI (Chinese character) emerges after feeding the KANA (Japanese syllabary) character of the 1st syllable and reading out the corresponding KANJI and then pushing a selection key and a fixing key when the desired character is obtained. CONSTITUTION:When the 1st syllable of the KANJI reading is fed from a keyboard, all corresponding KANJI are displayed from an ROM. For instance, ten different KANJI ''I'' and others are displayed to ''I'' as shown in the figure (1- 10). A fixing key in pushed to select ''I'' of 1-. Otherwise the 2nd syllable of KANJI, e.g., ''CHI'' is pushed to display different types of ''ICH'' as shown by 1, 2-. Then the 3rd syllable ''JI'' is fed to display ''CHO'' at the head, and the fixing key is pushed. In case the homonyms of ''RUI'' emerge, both selection and fixing keys are pushed to display, e.g. ''RUI'' of 2. In such a way, an input operation is simplified to ensure the quick KANA-KANJI conversion processing.
