PURPOSE:To improve the durability of an electrophotographic sensitive body without deteriorating the characteristics such as the sensitivity by forming a protective layer contg. a specified uracil compound or its hydrate on the sensitive body having an electrically conductive layer, a charge generating layer contg. an org. pigment as a charge generating agent, and a charge transferring layer. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer contg. 0.01-20wt%, specifically 0.1-5wt% compound represented by the formula (where R is H, alkyl, OH or COOH) or its hydrate, e.g., orotic acid (2,6-dioxo-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-4-pyrimidinecarboxylic acid) is formed. The protective layer contains said compound in a resin which is dry at ordinary temp., a thermosetting resin or a photosetting resin such as butyral resin or silicone resin, and the layer is formed on the surface of a sensitive body having a charge generating layer contg. an org. pigment as a charge generating agent and a charge transferring layer contg. an org. charge transferring agent to improve the durability of the sensitive body. |
