PURPOSE:To collect mud in a pipe without stirring it by closing the tip of the pipe by using a wire in a state that a mud collecting pipe is forced into the bottom of water. CONSTITUTION:A mud collecting machine is supended by a wire 1 from a ship. The wire 1, a hook ring 3 and a mud collecting machine suspending lot 2 are connected. The lot 2 is inserted into mud collecting machine holding cylindrical metallic fitting 4. A check pin 7 is hooked to a cylindrical groove 2a of the lot 2. Tip metallic fittings 16 and a weight 21 are provided on a mud collecting pipe 18, and the pipe 18 is attached to the lot 2 by the metallic fittings 4. The tip metallic fittings 16 are connected to the ring 3 by a wire 11, and when the mud collecting machine reaches the bottom of water, the pipe 18 is forced in by its empty weight. Subsequently, the pin 7 is detached by a spring 6. On the other hand, when the wire 1 is lifted, the wire 11 is drawn, and the tip of the pipe is closed by the metallic fittings 16. |
