<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture of a master cylinder, by separately forming a cylinder body, a mouth metal to be fitted with a reservoir, and a backward motion limiter, and by assembling them. CONSTITUTION:A master cylinder is composed of a cylinder body 1 open at both the ends, a mouth metal 2, which is liquid-tightly fitted on the front end of the cylinder body, a flange 3, which is fitted on its rear end, and tie rods 5, which couple the mouth metal 2 to the flange 3 and secure them to a bracket 4 as a mounting fixation member. The mouth metal 2 comprises an inlet part 2a connected to a reservoir 8, and an outlet part connected to a brake chamber, and a flange 2C in which the front portions 5a of the tie rods 5 are screw-engaged. A piston 6 is fitted in the cylinder body 1 so that the mouth metal 2 and the piston define a hydraulic pressure chamber 10. The flange 3 is provided with an engaging stopper 3b, with which the front end 7a of a push rod 7 comes into contact so that the backward motion of the piston 6 is limited.</p> |
