PURPOSE:To obtain a gas permselective composite membrane by using an aromatic polyester as an elemental material and a silicone compound excellent in mechanical characteristics, film-forming property, and heat resistance and requiring no vulcanization process as a compositional material. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic polyester is composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a divalent phenol, and a silicone compound is obtained from condensation-polymerization of an organosiloxane and an organic compound having at least one aromatic ring on its main chain or side chain. The thin film of silicone compound polymer having a great gas permability is laminated on the aromatic polyester film having asymmetrical pore diameters to obtain a composite membrane having a great gas permselectivity, or a plasma-polymerized thin film by plasma polymerization under glow discharge is deposited on the laminate layer to obtain a composite having greater gas permeability. |
