NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R<1> and R<2> are 1-8C hydrocarbon, halogenated hydrocarbon, or trimethylsiloxy; R<3> and R<4> are H, or 1-8C hydrocarbon; m is 0, 1, or 2; n is 1, 2, or 3 with the proviso that m+n=3 or 4). EXAMPLE:A compound shown by the formula II (Me is methyl). USE:Useful as a crosslinking agent for diorganopolysiloxane having both ends of molecule hindered with OH, a main raw material for silicone rubber. Useful for a sealing material, etc. as a room temperature curing silicone rubber composition free from evolution of toxic gas. PREPARATION:For example, a compound shown by the formula III is mixed with CCl4, a chlorine gas is introduced into the blend, to give a compound shown by the formula IV and a compound shown by the formula V, which are subjected addition reaction in the presence of a catalyst such as trifluoropropene, etc. to give a compound, which is reacted with acetone, N,N-dimethylformamide and triethylamine, to give a compound shown by the formula I .
