STRUCTURE OF UPPER BEARING PART OF MILL FOR ELECTRIC WELDED PIPE

PURPOSE:To enable attachment and detachment of an upper bearing with high working efficiency without decreasing the mechanical strength thereof by providing a sleeve between the bearing and roll shaft in the upper bearing part of a mill for an electric welded pipe and tapering the fitting surfaces thereof. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 1 is fitted onto the outside circumferential surface at the top end of a roll shaft 2 and a bearing 7 is fitted onto the outside circumferential surface. The section of the fitting surfaces of the shaft 2 and the sleeve 1 is formed into a tapered shape diverging downward. The fitting surfaces of the roll 1 and the shaft 2 are tapered and therefore the bearing 7 can be extremely easily removed from the shaft 2 simply by lifting the same at the fingertip in the stage of changing the roll. The efficient exchanging operation of the bearing is thus made possible.
