PURPOSE:To support a filter plate almost vertically in an opened state by a method in which correcting plates are hung down from a filter plate support rail in the filter plate group at an adequate interval, and coil springs are projectionally provided on the upper parts of the correcting plates. CONSTITUTION:A large number of filter plates 3 are hung down from a support rail 4 by rollers with arms 3a, and correcting plates 6 are interposed at an adequate interval (e.g., every 3-5 plates) among the filter plate group of a composite filter having frames 5 between the filter plates 3 and hung down from the support rail 4. Paired coil springs 7 are projectionally provided on the upper parts of the opened side of the correcting plates 6 by turning them toward the opened plate side. When the plates are opened, the filter plates 3 are moved to the opening direction, the filter frames 5 connected through chains are also dragged, and the correcting plates 6 are likewise moved. The coil springs 7 are opened ahead and made abutted against the previous filter plate 3' in slightly inclined state, so that the filter plate are kept almost vertically.
