NEW MATERIAL:3-Benzoylthio-4, 5alpha-epoxy-7alpha-[ 1( R )-hydroxy-1-methylbutyl ]-6- methoxy-17-methyl-6,14-endo-ethenomorphinan shown by the formula I . USE:Having analgesic action, useful as a drug. Having extremely lower narcotic properties than morphine, although it shows stronger analgesic action than morphine. PREPARATION:A solution of a compound shown by the formula II in anhydrous DMF is reacted with a solution of NaH and N,N-dimethyl-thiocarbamoyl chloride in anhydrous DMF to give a compound shown by the formula III. This compound is reacted in a nitrogen atmosphere to give a compound shown by the formula IV, which is further reacted with LiAlH4 and benzoyl chloride, to give a compound shown by the formula I .
