PURPOSE:To continuously manufacture plates and improve plate performance by improving a process in which an active material forming salt is impregnated in a nickel porous substrate. CONSTITUTION:A rolled substrate 13 is immersed in an active material forming salt solution 17. The salt solution 17 is allowed to circulate in a pipe 15 at a high speed by a circulation pump 16 and returned to a bath 18. When a substrate 14 is supplied in the pipe 15, pores of the substrate become reduced pressure and air is removed outside the pores. When the substrate 14 comes outside the tube, normal pressure is applied to the pores and the active material forming salt solution is pushed in the pores. The impregnated amount of salt solution is adjusted by dimension of the pipe 15 and circulation speed of the solution. |
