PURPOSE:To cause no erroneous detection of a form size of an original by an optical sensor by detecting a size of an original by the optical sensor in case a size detecting surface colored to a color of optical absorptivity of an endless belt is positioned on an original transferred onto a platen, and executing a copying operation in case a copying surface colored to a color of an optical reflecting property is positioned. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt 3 which rotates by synchronizing with a feed of an original 4 by a feed roll 5 rotates by its half rotation portion and transfers the original 4 to its copying position on a platen 6 by a size detecting surface 9. When the original 4 is transferred to its copying position on the platen 6, an optical sensor detects a size of the original, in its state. After the size of the original 4 is detected by the optical sensor, the endless belt 3 is shifted upward, separated from the original 4 existing in the copying position on the platen 6, rotated by an about half rotation portion again in this state, its copying surface 10 goes round downward, thereafter, it is shifted downward again, and the copying surface 10 of the endless belt 3 is positioned on the original 4. In this state, an exposing lamp is operated, and copying of the original is executed. |
