PURPOSE:To decrease contact resistance between an electrode plate and a current collector and increase energy efficiency by installing three or more current collectors on a halogen electrode plate along the long direction at specified spaces in a zinc-halogen cell constructed by arranging a large number of bipolar electrode in series. CONSTITUTION:Two step bipolar electrode 1 is constructed by using hard graphite as a zinc electrode plate 2, porous graphite as a chlorine electrode plate 3, and hard graphite as a current collector 4. Three or more current collector 4 are arranged between the zinc electrode plate 2 and the chlorine electrode plate 3 vertically at spacified spaces. As the number of the current collectors is increased, the contact area between the electrode and current collector is increased and conductivity is increased, and thereby a cell having high energy efficiency is provided. On the other hand, since effective area is decreased, the ratio of the contact area of the current collector and halogen electrode to the effective area of halogen electrode is preferably limited to 2:1-0.02:1. |
