Production of a fuel-grade mixt. of methanol and high-grade alchol comprises putting a gas mixt. of CO and H2 into a synthesis reactor to produce an intermediate product; converting the intermediate into a mixed reaction product of methanol, high-grade alchol, unreacted gas, CO2. and a meagre amt. of water; separating a liq. -phase contg. the fuel-grade mixt. and a gas-phase contg. Co-, H2 and CO2 from the mixed reaction product by coolingl and recycling the gaseous mixt. into the synthesis reactor after removing CO2.
