A spark plug for use in motorcycles or cars, in which the central electrode (1) has a T-shaped end piece, each of the two tips of the T-shaped end piece facing an earthed electrode (2) which forms a unit with the metal body (4), in such a manner that a gap having a defined spacing is provided between each tip of the central electrode (1) and that of its adjacent, earthed electrode (2). In each case one spark of a high-voltage current flashes over the two gaps, which spark ignites a petrol-air mixture with improved efficiency. For improved heat dissipation from the centre of the spark plug, four or more holes (3a) are arranged distributed uniformly radially in the part of the porcelain body (3) projecting beyond the outer metal body (4), as a result of which the life of the spark plug is increased. <IMAGE>
