In a terminal for the connection of electrical conductors to a multi-core cable of a power supply network, which cable exhibits the insulated cores in a concentric arrangement with respect to the cable longitudinal axis, having a multi-piece terminal body (1, 2) which has the capacity to surround the cable, and having at least one contact body (7) which has at least one contact element (11) which allows the penetration of the plastic cable insulation and allows contact to be made with the wire cores, and has a connecting device for at least one of the electrical conductors, at least one limiter element (10, 15) is provided, which is elastically deformable and keeps the compression stress of the cable insulation by the terminal, in the mounted state of the same, to a value of less than approximately 20 N/mm<2> in order to avoid having to support the insulated cores with respect to one another by means of insulating bodies, which bodies have cutters which penetrate the core insulation. <IMAGE>
