In a process for the removal by suction of sludge liquor or the like using a vacuum cesspool cleaner, in particular a combined high pressure sewer cleaning vehicle, a flocculating agent initially in the form of a concentrate is added to the sludge liquor removed by suction for coagulation and precipitation of the solid fraction of the sludge liquor and the mixture is then filtered. In this case, at least one mixing vessel (10, 11) is also carried and a working solution is mixed batchwise on site depending on the particular requirement in the form of concentrates diluted with water. This working solution is then added to the sludge liquor. Two mixing vessels are expediently available, each of which has a concentrate feedline (12), a utility water feedline (13) and a feedline (17) to the sludge liquor line (7) for the finished working solution. The mixing vessels (10, 11) have a compressed air connection (37, 38) in the base region and a venting line (15, 16) in the upper region, in such a manner that the concentrate can be intimately mixed with filter water by compressed air passed into the mixing vessels (10, 11) from the vehicle's own compressed air unit. <IMAGE>
