PURPOSE:To obtain an electronic cash register which can perform the discount register with a simple operation and has a small and inexpensive keyboard, by operating the price after discount for an article to be registered and then registering the result of price operation. CONSTITUTION:When an operator pushes a discount key, a CPU checks a register flag 33 and then checks the set/reset of a discount permission flag 36. The flag 36 is set if the discount sale is permitted for the corresponding article. Thus a table 31 is searched based on the address of the data corresponding to an article key D1 stored in a save area 37. A discount factor corresponding to the number of a discount table 38 is read out to the key D1, and a discount amount is calculated. Then the discount amount is subtracted from the total amount corresponding to the key D1. In such a way, a discount operation is performed to the corresponding article just by pushing the discount key in case the discount registration is desired. Then a price obtained after discount is automatically registered to a discount register area 32. |
