The automatic cleaning of reflectors on road reflector posts takes place by the actuation of a wind blade arranged on the right side of the reflector post on a pivotable lever system, as a result of which, on the left end of the lever system and a joint piece, a geometrical shape changes and a cleaning member, similar to a windscreen wiper, runs across the reflector. The actuation of the wind blade takes place by gusts of wind which arise as a result of air displacement at the roadside when fast or large-volume motor vehicles pass the road reflector post. After the motor vehicles have passed, the geometrical shape, and thus the cleaning member, cleaning again by spring force, return into their starting position.
