Material for decorative purposes and method for the manufacture thereof

A material is described for decorative purposes having 5 to 20% by weight chromium, 0.3 to 10% by weight silver, balance nickel and possibly impurities, having a microstructure, produced by hot-isostatic compacting of a powder, the silver portion being present at separate punctiformly finely disperse as particles of about 1 to 3 microns in the gamma -matrix. The method is characterised in that a powder of this composition is compacted hot-isostatically.
