A submersible or U-type pump is described in the form of a centrifugal electric pump with vertical shaft, in which the impeller is arranged directly on the motor shaft, a middle bearing between impeller and motor rotor being provided for the shaft so that these two parts are movably supported on sides of the shaft remote from one another. The hub receiving the bearing is appropriately arranged at least partially inside the winding of the motor.
