In an arrangement for lifting a suspendable container, the weight of the container is taken up by a support. The container is connected to this support via a suspension device. A measuring probe is provided between the support and the suspension device. The values transmitted by the measuring probe correspond to the weight of the container. The measured values can be fed into a weighing device, by means of which the container is weighed. The measured values can be determined continuously and directly. For this reason, the weight of the container can be recorded at any instant. Furthermore, it is possible to determine the difference between an instantaneous measured value and a certain preceding measured value, for example the initial weight of the container, and to thereby record the weight loss of the container. The determination of differential values is utilised to be able to bring about accurate proportioning of a material packed in the container. This proportioning is facilitated by means of a computer. Preselectable formula entries can be input into this computer and in this way fully automatic proportioning for a certain purpose can be carried out. The support is designed as a supporting frame which can be coupled to a lifting appliance. A load pick-up which produces the connection to the suspension device is fastened to the supporting frame.
